The company predominantly imports various food items from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, holding distribution agreements with several factories, including the National Food Industries Limited Company, the National Biscuit and Confectionery Company Limited, and the Gulf Union Food Company.

 

The company imports soap from Malaysia and is also engaged in the glass trade between Pakistan and Europe.

 

Muwaffak Abdullatif Shanshal is the founder of Alsumaa Trading DMCC and is one of the well-known Iraqi traders. He belongs to a prestigious family with a trading history dating back to the 1920s. The family possesses over 100 years of experience in food trade. The grandfather held a first-class commercial license in Iraq since 1920, and their activities spanned a group of companies involved in the import, export, and distribution of foodstuffs. This includes importing barley to Saudi Arabia, trading sesame and cocoa in Nigeria and Ethiopia. They were also involved in the trade of wheat, sugar, rice, lentils, beans, and various legumes between Europe, America, and Arab countries.

 

They hold distribution agencies for several American rice brands in Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Muwaffak Abdullatif Shanshal has a team of administrative and logistics staff overseeing and managing the operations of all his affiliated companies. He also owns companies in Jordan (Amman and Aqaba), Lebanon, Canada.

 

Additionally, he owns an Iraqi company called “Alhayawia Company Industry LTD.”
